IdentifierType
IdentifierType is the enumeration of identifier kinds the API can report on the identifier_type field of an Identifier. It is what tells you whether a number you received is a drawing number, a part number, a project number or an order number, which is the difference between a value you can key an ERP lookup on and a string you cannot place. Use it to route identifiers to the right system of record, to reconcile the same physical part across a customer's and a supplier's numbering, or to decide which of several numbers on a title block is the one your workflow keys on.
The list grows as the recognition pipeline learns to distinguish more kinds. Because it is a plain string enumeration, code that matches the values it already knows keeps working when new members are added, so treat an unfamiliar value as "a kind I do not handle yet" rather than as an error.
Where a drawing carries an identifier whose kind is not in this list, it is returned as NUMBER, with the caption and the value preserved. So a NUMBER means the identifier was found and read but not classified, not that anything went wrong. If you see a recurring caption arriving as NUMBER, that is worth reporting: it is how the list grows.

These identifiers are commonly used in engineering drawings, contracts, and manufacturing processes to uniquely identify components, documents, or stakeholders.
Where a drawing carries an identifier whose kind is not listed here, it is returned as NUMBER, which keeps the caption and the value but not the kind. That is why this list is kept as complete as the reader's own caption vocabulary: a missing member is not an error anywhere, it is a generic number in your output.

- CAGE_CODE: Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code.
- CONTRACT_NUMBER: Number associated with a specific contract.
- CUSTOMER_INDEX: Index a customer assigns alongside their own number.
- CUSTOMER_NAME: Name of the customer.
- CUSTOMER_NUMBER: Identifier assigned to the customer.
- DASH_NUMBER: Dash number distinguishing a variant of a base part number.
- DOCUMENT_CODE: Code classifying the document, as opposed to numbering it.

- MANUFACTURER_NAME: Name of the manufacturer.
- MANUFACTURER_NUMBER: Identifier assigned to the manufacturer.
- MATERIAL_NUMBER: Identifier of the material.
- MATERIAL_WAREHOUSE_NUMBER: Warehouse identifier for the material.
- MISCELLANEOUS: Miscellaneous identifier.
- MODEL: Model designation of the part or product.
- NUMBER: Generic number. Also what an identifier of an unlisted kind falls back to.

- PRODUCT_NAME: Name of the product.
- PRODUCT_NUMBER: Number of the product, as opposed to its name or id.
- PROFILE_NUMBER: Identifier of the profile or extrusion.
- PROJECT_NAME: Name of the project.
- PROJECT_NUMBER: Number of the project. Distinct from its name.
- PROTOTYPE_NUMBER: Identifier of the prototype.
- REFERENCE_DRAWING_NUMBER: Identifier of a referenced drawing.
- REPLACED_BY: Identifier for the component that replaces another.
- REPLACEMENT_FOR: Identifier for the component that is replaced by another.
- SERIAL_NUMBER: Serial number of the individual item.
- SETTING_PLAN_NUMBER: Identifier of the setting or setup plan.
- TOOL_NUMBER: Identifier of the tool.
- TYPE_NUMBER: Type designation number.
